Holmes County, Ohio is one of the most beautiful small town places in America. Thousands of people visit every year to admire this peaceful Midwest oasis. A devastating reality though, is that sexual abuse and domestic violence are happening in this quaint community.
In 2014, Larry and Kendra Kaufman and a core team from Grace Church launched 58:12 Rescue: Holmes County to break the silence and to create awareness that sexual abuse and domestic violence were happening.
Isaiah 58:12 says, “Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.” The mission of 58:12 Rescue is to provide a safe Christ-centered home for vulnerable women and children in our community that have been devastated by sexual abuse and/or domestic violence.
Seeing the need locally also led us to want to help those around the globe who may be suffering in ways other than domestic or sexual abuse. Since opening our homes in Thailand and Haiti, we have helped countless men, women, and children through outreaches, prayer, and safe shelter. Our dream is to have safe houses in other communities as expressions of our commitment to biblical justice and to care for the most vulnerable. You can help us make a difference.
